LHC (Large Hadron Collider) how bad could that be?

Post  Cubemoon on Tue Sep 09, 2008 10:14 pm

You know the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) thing where particles hit each other at light speed. do you really think theres eas a chance of being sucked into a place whole and the world DOOOOM!!!!
The whole milky way would be sucked in and were all be squshed together O.o

Chance of making a black hole with that is like equivalent to winning the lotto 100 times in a row... they're not even aiming to make a black hole! The're actually trying to prove the big bang theory using some super collider and .... I think?

Yah. But I don't see how causing 2 atoms to collide will cause a Big Bang. Maybe it will cause a Small/Tiny Bang. The Big Bang only happened because more than a few billion(?) particles collided.

Holy shit dude 1 in 10 MILLION CHANCE thats half of the Australian population you have more of chance being killed by a COCONUT then the big bang happening heck every time u got into the CAR u have more of a chance of dying.

but theres always thats chance that a black hole may occur, since they are repeatily gonna use it over and over again

Yeah but it'll be microscopic since the force of the particles hitting each other is equivalent to the force of two mosquitoes flying at each other then hitting each other. There isn't any matter for the black hole to suck in and grow either....

They're not really recreating the big bang, just making these particles collide to find out certain things that will help prove the big bang theory.

Well, it would take at least approx 10 years until we can actually get evidence of it happening and that this experiment will be going on for at least 20 -30 years approx
