Dude have you even aimed a long range high caliber rifle? it needs practice and training ALOT of it. These days long range firefights are anywhere between 50-150 metres. It's not big fields anymore Long range rifles are quick becoming history. Assault Rifles with a scope is your best bet. ACOG preferrably
